This one is a SAMS Teach Yourself series, "Regular Expressions in 10
minutes"

Which is a little misleading, as it has 10x10 minute sessions. :-)

You reffering to Jeffery Friedl's Mastering Regular Expressions (O'Rielly, 
ISBN 0596002890)

It gets a mention, if I could find it here, it would cost me 1/3 to 1/2 my 
monthly salary, and I have too many books here that are off questionable value 
to myself, and they cannot be "returned" if found to be of no value.

So am very cautious about buying books, if a book will get reference status 
here, I don't mind paying for it, but I only have a handful of those, and none 
of them are computer related. :-((

I have 5 very weighty and expensive tomes within reach, if I go looking for 
some of them, and I only regard one as useful, administrating unix or some 
such, it's only saving grace is, it has a comprehensive list of commands, and 
short  explanations of what each does, but that is about 1/8 of the book, I 
scan it once in awhile when I need to check something. The rest are only good 
for an introduction to Linux/Unix, and once you have been using a Linux/Unixie 
system for a couple of weeks are of no value whatsoever.  but they cost 
a great deal of money, I could ill afford to spend.

Books, ...  , cannot even find books on perl/python/ruby 
at the local library.
