BY ALL MEANS - Get the Manual!! Its really worth the money!
Second, I gave up trying to do patch changes, except by means of sysex,
and that means an editor, I use SuperJV {shareware} mostly, but also Changeit
{free} and Merlin {free} - I also have unisyn and soundquest, but have not
found them very helpful.
I do everything via temp performance patch sysex 555 bytes sets all patches,
efects, levels, one for each midi... there is so much going on in
performances that it is the only way to do all I want to do, and with an
editor its quite easy, cakewalk in one window, editor in the other...
drop me a line at rjordan@earthlink.net and I will give you some of the
better url's for the 1080 there is also a dedicated list for jv/xp users that
stays pretty much on topic...

never heard of that one.... but if it really was a fire sale, there might be
some damage?
Sure I've run accross Gary, have most of his older stuff, not many people
doing big band, but I'm not really into big band,... closest I get is a polka
now and then...
Regards,
Richard.
