Personally I have bought 5 of them, and all of them performed as 
advertised.  High cost?  Not hardly.  More like better quality!  
However, I had a need for all voice modems.  Therefore, I bought the 
Sportster; which has everything.  Don't know why the Courier does not 
include it.  But, I am prejudice about the Courier.  It is by far the 
best around.  Hayes is ok too but, I have never seen many full connects 
such as like above 28.8 with the Hayes.  Cheaper modems sometimes are 
good and sometimes not.  Mostly what they is, cheaper is not always 
better.
