Earwigs have been around longer than that, between 75 and 150 years. Came
from Europe in a load of lumber. Nasty little critters, get into everything,
can eat a row of seedlings to the ground overnight and can give you a good
pinch if you pick them up or they fall on you or (trust me) you sit on one in
the grass. Fortunately, Diazanon will kill them. I usually like to use more
natural methods but I can't stand them! And my cat won't eat them either,
that's got to say something about how nasty a bug they are! :)
