| subject: | M11F and USR V.34+ |
LE> Amazing. I never managed to get an M11F to connect using V.FC, I always had LE> to lock down to V.32bis. Interstate, intrastate, or ISD, to various USRs. PM> Just thought I'd try it out for myself and guess what, PM> M11F to USR Courier V.e 3 times in a row, no problems. :-) PM> obviously your mileage varies! LE> I'm using the same firmware version. It's inexplicable. If you can borrow a Courier, it would be very interesting to see the ATY11 line probe stats when calling Dave Drummonds immaculate line. You MUST call another Courier tho, there is some major problem when it isnt a USR on each end of the call, a big shift of 7db ish in the whole curve. We went for years with a real quirk where Bill Grimsley was the only one who ever had any real problems calling a Spirit with a V32bis Sportster, with quite a few also calling with a V32bis Sportster roughly daily. Once the line probe stats were available after the Spirit died, it became dead bloody obvious why, Bills line really isnt very good at all. Its also interesting to think back to the days when you and Dave Drummond were having a big fight about the performance of Couriers, with him saying that he never had any problem with incoming callers, you had heaps. Turns out that Daves line is about the most immaculate that we have ever seen on the line probe stats and it all starts to fall into place why he never saw any problems with a line like that. I wouldnt be a bit surprised if your line is a bit ropey. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
