I have the same problem. it appears its a bug common with Telix as well 
as a  number of other comms programs.  It seems to be connected  with 
the original signal that comes down the line. 
 
With a 14400 modem with 42 bis on the original connect will come back 
as 38400 and Telix appears to use that speed to calculate the transfer time.
