I've received a large (half meg) file at just over 1700 cps using
V.32bis/MNP 4, but you'd need to demonstrate the accuracy of your
measurement to prove a transfer of an incompressible file in excess of 4000
cps over a 33600 bps connection.

I'll concede that it's possible with Zmodem Mobyturbo or with Ymodem-g or
no error correcting file transfer protocol, but doubt that it's possible
with ZedZap.
