Thank you for your prayers. Brittany is improving. She is walking with
a walker now; and the therapist is optimistic that she will eventually
walk without it. As a matter of fact, her parents say they saw her take
a step without holding on to the walker at all, but I think that might
have been wishful thinking on their part.
Brittany hates physical therapy. After the accident, until she went to
the physical therapist, she refused to straighten her legs out, or even
try to move them. When she refused to move them for the therapist, the
therapist simply reached out and pulled them straight, which, I am sure,
hurt. She then informed Brittany, "You will either try to do what I say,
or *I* will do it for you. One way or the other you will get through
these exercises." It sounds really harsh, but it also really does have
to be done. Five year olds just can't look ahead well enough to realize
that sometimes you have to go through the pain to get better.
