A friend of mine used to have problems with returning bad motherboards: 
sporatic problems would occur, he'd return the mboard, the supplier 
would hook it up and run a quick diag on it, find no problem and tell him 
there was no problem.  He finally figured out how to assure these bad
motherboards would not get sent back to him: He pulls out one of these 
100,000 volt stun guns and applies the electrodes to the power inputs on 
the board...
