crackdown said Tuesday that Iraq planned to close its borders with Syria
and Iran for 72 hours as part of the drive to secure the Iraqi
capital."

The direct implication being, of course, that the resistance is in some way
continuously fueled across those borders.

More demonization of Iran. Drip by drip by drip.  I have the deepest dread
that Shrub has already decided on an attack, probably strongly supported by
Israel.

I really, really hope this doesn't happen.  It will make Iraq look like a
schoolyard pushing and shoving match.

I'm looking at the curve, and I'm wondering when Putin will privately
remind Shrub that the Russians also have nuclear weapons.  I have not yet
seen a US strategy that so clearly and obviously threatens the US mainland.
