subject: Re: California to ban light bulbs?

From: "Antti Kurenniemi"

I use a lot of the fluorescent bulbs inside the house, but they can't be
used outside when it's very cold (winter) because they don't light up but
keep on blinking, and eventually die in a day or two. Tried a couple of
times, but even the newest ones don't want to light up when it's -20 C or
colder.

I'm quite interested in the LED lights, though. I've understood that some
advances have been made there, and the new tech is supposed to hit the
stores "any day now". I've got a headband led light which I
sometimes use when I'm showeling snow or otherwise working outside, and
it's got awesome battery life and the light it really bright.
