About the Palestinian Mecca deal etc & the "Quartet response".

"US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and US President George W.
Bush have laid out a Middle East strategy focused on rallying what they
call "mainstream" Arab forces to isolate "extremists"
backed by Syria and Iran."


The "Quartet" (pushed by the US & Germany) have adopted a
rather childish "adopt all our demands or else" approach which
has isolated & financially crippled the PA.

The ""mainstream" Arab" forces may choose to
"isolate "extremists" backed by Syria and Iran " by
competing with them wrt cash flowing into the PA.

So........

Which policy prevails or is the US still in the "you're either with us
or against us" & what would that do wrt relations twixt the US
& the ""mainstream" Arab forces"?
