subject: Incremental Backups

DN>Maybe there's smarter people on this Conference than on WIN95!
DN>I've been looking for an Incremental Backup (only backup changed
DN>files) that works with WIN95 to do a block copy of files that have
DN>their Archive bit set, and then clear that bit. Click on a folder
DN>and only copy changed files would be ideal.
DN>I'm getting some pretty big WP 7.0 files that contain lots of
DN>genealogy graphics images. I got an Iomega ZIP unit but their
DN>software wants to copy ALL files in a directory, as does the WIN95
DN>Copy command. NUTZ! I've been on Iomega's Home Page with no success,
DN>and no human response to human questions--only computer
 DN>auto-responses.
DN>I have an old DOS program that does an Archive backup, but it
DN>doesn't do LFNs. Am I going to have to revert to a DOS Batch file to
DN>do this? I can't believe that, because I've heard that, "DOS is
DN>dead!" It sounds ridiculous to have to copy EVERY FILE in a
DN>directory to a backup device whenever you do a backup!
I haven't "upgraded" to WIN95. But can't you open a folder, then RUN XCOPY
with the /M switch?
