RJ> Anyone know how to repair a dead boot sector on a HPFS partition ? I've had RJ> Is there an OS/2 command like 'sys' or similar ? It boots off floppy, but RJ> goes straight to the prompt. CHKDSK doesn't help. Have a look at SYSINSTX.COM on the emergency boot disks you safely and methodically created as per the OS/2 manual when you were through installing the product ;-)))) Also located at x:\os2\install\bootdisk\sysinstx.com Alternatively if you like doing things the guru-looking-way (if doing this to impress someone of the opposite gender, I suggest you practise 'before the show'), boot off a DOS floppy on a good machine, get the boot sector off a working HPFS partition using Nortons or similar, and (after booting off a floppy) graft it into your mangled system. -- Lewin A.R.W.
