Okay then, but can you answer the question whether the two bands had
the occasional common lyricist, as Sinfield served Crimson and ELP...
Speaking of the KC connection, I saw a CD by Mike Giles, Jamie Muir and
some dude whose name wasn't familiar, a soundtrack to some experimental
film, apparently. And I purchased a Penguin Cafe Orchestra LP from
'84 or so that has Mr. Giles playing drums on one song. How close that
makes it sound to "Confessions of Doctor Dream" I've yet to determine.
Since Le Orme CD's are available, I couldn't quite bring myself to
pick up any of their LP's (they also have a live one I hadn't spotted
in previous visits), and even the old still sealed Marillion vinyl
wasn't appealing enough on this day... And even at "sale" prices,
the Steamhammer, Flash, Devil Doll and Djam Karet CD's were still
too expen$ive at this store. With all the uncles I had, you'd think
at least one of 'em woulda been rich and childless, but no...
Oh well. Thanks for the advice on beverage consumption for optimal
Max Webster enjoyment. Hopefully the pictures of the guy in the
skintight jumpsuit and platform shoes won't make me laugh hard enough
to get beer coming out my nose...
Dave
... I'd give you a piece of my mind, but I'm on the last one.
