Oh indeed. It has to be said that before this they were using surplus mil
stocks anyway (esp landmines & converted artillery shells etc) &
lot's of them (esp anti-tank mines) come ready to go on the "molten
stream of copper" front.....so.....sending in 50 thousand combat
engineers to clear the minefields (esp on the Iran-Iraq border & the
"arab-Kurdish border") might have been the best move.

Oh & sending in enough people at the start to safeguard large stocks of
(Iraqi Army) mil kit which was left completely free of supervision for long
periods.

That's why I was so surprised. Everyone watches US "facts &
figures" like a hawk nowadays.

The UK has a stronger case & it would have been nice to see UK bod
doing the accusing but maybe the UK isn't in a threat posture towards Iran.
