subject: ATM Mirror cell questions

I have a question about the proper way to rig the triangles in a 9 point
cell I am designing for a 12.4" mirror. What are some good ways of
mounting the triangles to allow them to pivot sufficiently to do the job of
supporting the mirror evenly without slop that would allow the mirror to
change its position as the scope turns? I am having trouble envisioning a
joint that I am able to fabricate (no machining, please) that would do the
job. I am looking for as simple a solution as possible (being a basically
simple guy).

Also, since I am building this scope for use on a GEM mount, the mirror has
to be secure and not shift as the scope is rotated into all sorts of weird
positions. I see many people use RTV pads to secure the mirror. Wouldn't
that material allow the mirror to shift since it is elastic? Also, just how
strong is that stuff? Is it good enough to hold a 1.5" x 12.4"
mirror at all angles? Are mirror clips a thing of the past or are there
good modern versions that won't risk stressing the mirror?

Any suggestions for clever solutions?
