Hey all, I've a few posts asking about up and down loading using Telix.
I have been a Telix user with several versions over the past several years
and even though I am by no means a highly competent or expert user I have
found it very easy and forgiving. Last year while browsing about in a local
bbs I came across a transfer protocol called IceZmodem that promised dramatic
increases in data rates. After a few conflicts getting set up I increased my
data transfer rate fron @2400 bps using standard Zmodem to 16000 to
18000 (thats right -thousand) bps using IceZmodem!!! Recently I even
itnessed
a transfer rate >20000 bps when tied to a bbs that used IceZmodem (auto
etect
turbo) I've tried using v3.51 and am not as happy with it as I am v3.2. I
could
not get IceZmodem configured properly and the high transfer rate is important
to me. The script learning capability looks promising, too bad it cannot be
transplanted into v3.2....Really, ask your local sysop's about finding a copy
of IceZmodem ( IZM102.zip) if you can't find one leave me a post here or have
your sysop "freq" the file from this node..I'll upload it to my board if
necessary.
