Thanks, Gary... I got the same suggestion from another, and it sounds
good. The biggest pain is/was moving the membership from "Other Names"
to "Customer". Plus, my Parish board is uncomfortable with "Customer"
and "Invoice". Know any way to modify these names without changing any
functions?
As for security, I persuaded the Church to buy PCTools 2.0 for windows,
and use script tools to automate encryptation and decryption. I've never
heard of anyone ever being able to crack those... And I know a fair
number who've tried!
My major headache at this point is trying to get 4 years worth of data
that came in from the old DOS QBooks cleaned up, (Other Names must have
4 to 10 different names for the same person/company due to mispellings,
capitalization, and the like!) I'm also working hard to streamline the
chart of accounts, which seemed to have as many different sub-catagories
as they could think of. (Gad!)
Thanks for the Ideas, and I'll pass along anything good I hear...
Rich A.
... For every complex problem there is a simple and WRONG solution.
