Hey, Mark!
Ah, winter woodshedding...what a delight! Good music and a
guitar...what else could you want?
The German guy said he'd keep my number. He even wanted to know if
there was a train he could catch from N.O. to Madisonville. He said he'd
ride over on the train for practice and spend the day as well.
Shoot, no such luck.
And, alas, no one else has responded to that ad. I placed it in a New
Orleans music magazine. Perhaps in January I'll put the same ad in the N.O.
newspaper and see if anything happens there. Of course, that one won't be
free. :(
Thanks for making the tape. I am looking forward to hearing it.
Uh, as far as my own listening goes, I've been trying to convice Dianne to
give me $18 for Ronnie Montrose's latest. It just isn't available around
here, and I have to order from Ronnie himself. Hey, did you see that post?
Yep, I contacted Ronnie via his web site about a month ago, and we've been
posting often. I can't say we're best friends, but the experience has been a
nice thrill for me. I feel so "out of his league" in guitar conversation,
though.
Todd Rundgren has a new CD, too. It's a bunch of bossa nova remakes of
some of his songs. Ve-ry interesting. of course, I've heard just about
everything else he's done, and I've liked about 94% of it, so I guess I'll
get this one, too.
Don't know when MY CD or tape will be released, though. MAYBE in 1998.
No, I'm serious...sort of. I have the songs and the recording media...it's
just a matter of DOIN' it!
Ol' Vineburg refuses go give me any comments on the tape of songs I sent
him, so I have absolutely NO IDEA what kind of reaction to expect from my
"cartoon music," as my appreciate wife calls it. Oh well...compared to the
crap I hear on the radio these days, I certainly might be in good company.
heh heh
