Hark!
I hear the voice of many years gone by, whispering: "tubes, John. It's
all tubes." Yep. Finally went the way of poor, confused, disoriented Andy
Moss, "King of Tubes", and am buying a tubed amp. Gone are the Carvers of
recent and old. Gone are the sleek, light weight black chassis. In comes the
Melos space heater with the combined weight of a fat family from the Bronx.
Will the tubes be what they have pronmised to be? Will they usher in the
voices of singing angels and other heavenly promises of "the ancients", and
the "ones before" (even older farts)?
Only time will tell. But just in case, I am holding on to my Hafler 500.
Are you a tube fan? Since I heard what that X10-D tubed output unit (tweak)
did to my inexpensive CD player, I caught the tube bug. Guess I'll see and
will let you know.
Cheers, John
