Hello all.

Thanks for all help and ideas.
I apologise for my poor attempt at a web page, it seems I can design a scope but
not a web site!!!!. The web page has only been started and will have far
more pictures.

My new scope is a 8.75in F5.8 ultralight. The entire scope with heaviest eyepiece
weigs only 4.9Kg (10.8lbs). The mirror accounts for 2.1Kg (4.6lbs) of this.
I got a bit carried away with some lightweight ideas. This scope was really
only a trial run for some concepts that I would like to build into my 20in
scope, but it seems to have worked quite well.

The first thing that you will notice is that the truss tubes are themselves
triangular cross section trusses. The trusses are extremely stiff. I am
going to follow with full construction details for all bits of the scope.

I apologise about the poor photograph. I ran out of flash! The web site
will be updated with descent photos of the scope and of all construction
stages and parts within the week.

Here is my (attempt) at a website.
