If it's simply a matter of file name length .. you can load OS/2
Namespace on a volume you use for mirroring workstations.  I'll
be trying a few methods of that myself over the next few weeks.
There is also a policies option in the Admin utils that should
allow some control of workstation configs ... again, untried here.
If you're still using the 16bit apps from Windows ... you could 
mirror that and do an upgrade of WIN95 from the server.
I'd be glad to hear anyone elses experience with these!
