I tried that and that seems to be easy, but on some of the things they
wanted just two words. That seemed a little hard even for me.

I think personally, thats great. What grade is that? My 3rd graders are
starting nounds, verbs, and compound words.

Well thats, kinds hard, cause like I said they want me to do everything.
Once in a while they do it by themselves--like spelling words or our
religion study. We use a cassette and book so they really like that. Then
we read a few scriptures and talk about things and I ask questions and get
to find out how much they comprehended. They do good on that. I have an
erasure board and use it to talk about nouns. The kids can give me examples
and sometimes I let them write on the board too. They hate reading, they
hate writing. They love talking. My 11 year old is pretty good. He does
what I tell him and doesn't really complain.
DR> Always a tough thing. Mine have the same trouble.
As far as teaching them to think for themselves its a matter of time. I
now
that. They need to learn what questions to ask themselves. In learning I
am teaching them key words in directions. This makes it easier for them to
glance at the directions and do it. It will take time, I know.
DR> Hmmmm.....have you tried ignoring her when she goes into those
DR> tirades? It worked for me with Jennifer. Maybe you've tried that, tho.

Tried that. All I get is the same thing over and over. Then Jeremy who
can't concentrate gets flipped out and what a day. We had one really bad
one today. I only taught 2 hours and that was all I was going to do.
There Library day was suppose to be tommorrow and I took that away. I am
not going to give them privileges for bad behavior.
Thanks, its good just spitting this all out.
