You need to reveiw the current legal definition of "free". The way
the Bell Atlantic scam works is that there is an approximate $300
commission to the agent or dealer for getting the one year contract.
Out of that, the dealer or agent pays for the so-called free phone.
The customer is required to pay a certain sum (minimum) for at least
one year which insures that the dealer gets paid for the phone. Sounds
like an installment sales contract or at least a deceptive sales
practice to me.
Taking your statement at face value, if you only got $75-100 for
the signup, how could you afford to buy that phone?
