Thanks for the reply. My second note crossed in the mail. I did find 
a BBS here that carries this echo. I'm over here on the East Coast
and this net seems to be having more trouble than the rest of the world 
getting messages in and out on FIDO. I'm half ready to give up on it,
so am considering the worth of getting someone else involved. My bossnode
may be a Planet Connect site within the next month or so, so I'm hanging
in there.
When I first hooked up, I was curious about the echo usage, whether
help could be found in searching for relatives, or if it was "just"
a support echo. I had 8 notes come in today, and one of 'em explained
about the three birth registries, ISRR, ITTAT, and RRI 
(If it's called that)
I don't know anything about the woman who's looking for her birth 
parents. She's a friend of a cousin I heard from when doing my genealogy.
I'll pass on what info I have and see if they want to join in. I'll 
freeze the "better" messages until she makes a decision...
