  And the men that were drafted in the Merchant Marine were given nothing
until just recently, when so few of the many were alive.   

Thats where I lost all faith in Ottawa or governments.

   In the USA the President is also head of state, and C in C of all forces.
The case in Canada is not the same.  The head of state is the Queen, and
the Governor General is her representative. These people in the past, were
the military authority, not what they are today, to have power like they
have.

In Parliament, as in Congress ... Declarations of war are issued.
Not a Prime Minister or President acting alone.    

Of course the citizen has allowed their power to be eroded by those who
are supposed to represent them in Parliament or Congress.

  I was rather shocked to hear in the news that information from
Churchill's war cabinate meetings noted that if Adolf Hitler was
captured, he was to be executed.    Not exactly what we base our
so-called civilization on today in the west, but then this is
coming from the very man who used troops in Northern England
during the coal strike to kill in cold blood citizens for being
on strike.    Laborers never forgot this, and after the war
Mr. Churchill was defeated.

Oh well lots more to come out one day.   I'd rather have truth
in history, then that written by the victor anyday.
