I don't agree that the right would put sound investment policy of these
funds over political maneuvering.  With the help of MSM that seems to be a
province of the left kind of thing.  Even if 100% of the federal government
were conservative however, I still wouldn't want the federal government
with the money to invest for us, instead of us investing it ourselves. Just
out of principle.
