subject: Seeking book recommendati

Hey, folks.

A friend (no, really!) asked me today to recommend a middle-school-level
book that would help him understand biological classification schemes, and
I'm drawing a complete blank. Does anyone have recommendations for
something along those lines (it could, obviously, be a more general book
about evolution and phylogeny) aimed at, say, a reasonably bright 12-14
year old kid? (The kid in question is actually 7, but he's reading at the
high school level already. Alas, it's not MY kid, who's also 7 and reading
at about the 7-year-old level.)

Post or email; it's not like we're drowning in traffic here.
