I disagree - it is extremely useful in zip, and I see CSplit doing
something almost similar in nature - reproducing a source "tree"
from the original developer to the other developers' systems.  If I were to
give you a tree of inc, src, make directories, wouldn't you want them
reproduced so you simply have to recompile?

I wouldn't want ".." supported, nor *any* type of absolute path
names, but relative directories would be a nice feature.  :-)
