   ..Ever try to look for patterns in the numbers from one of those
shortwave stations?   Back before the computer days, I spent a fair amount
of time trying to decode some of these.   From what I remember, no one knew
what the stations were; they broadcast in multiple languages.   It was
probably some sort of spy reporting home in an encrypted transmission.   If
they didn't use some sort of dictionary encryption, I'll bet some of those
old number sequences would yield to a computer and cryptanalysis.
