If you _know_ that for certain, then change them both to use hardware flow
control. Software flow control is _not_ recommended for high-speed modems.

Modem type doesn't matter - the characteristics of your PC do. _Lower_ the
Win95 buffer settings if you get CRC errors on receive. Otherwise, leave
them alone. I've found the default settings in a Fossil are all that's
required.
