"Don't get your @ sign in a knot, All" said Bob F Howard, "I'll be right
there!"
BFH> just had a mass confusion situation with this @ that caused some
BFH> real problems. I read it as "at" in computer lingo, but as "each" in
BFH> commercial use.
BFH> So in commerical use it normally is used as
BFH> 500 pcs $3.00 @
BFH> But here is the problem, some people write it like
BFH> 500 pcs @ $3.00
BFH> The former is $1,500 total
BFH> and the latter appears to be saying 500 pcs at $3.00 total.
That's correct. @ should be read as "each at".
BFH> It made a big problem for me on an order. What is the proper way to
BFH> express it for commerical purposes?
500 pcs. @ $3.00...............................$1,500.00
When listing it, I subtotal per item to avoid confusion, not that I get a
huge call for that in my line.
