Hi Beverly!
-=> Quoting Beverly Cohen to Wendy Buchanan <=-
WB> Have you thought about crafting a suspension bridge? Sounds
BC> Cute, Wendy! :-) As a matter of fact, I have. However, I'd have to
BC> get into the mud to set it, and I'm trying to stay out of it. :-)
I have a friend in Kansas who's a structural engineer. He says
the company he used to work for set bridge supports on a really
vital bridge across the Saginaw River on Interstate 75 in Michigan,
over which my family and thousands of people travel a lot, in
quicksand and before they could build the bridge, guess what?
I guess bridge crafting isn't as much fun as we'd think! hehehe!
He spent months drafting those plans and then some kook put the
supports in the wrong place. I thought it was hilarious at the
time but I guess he didn't...

BC> I think that little froggie scrubber holder is a piece that *every*
BC> one does when they start doing ceramics. Everyone I know that has
BC> *ever* done a ceramic piece, has a froggie scrubber holder. :-) It
I must have done 10 of those, and put different colors on the
shoes on each one to match everyone's kitchens. Mom's were a
gaudy orange and brown, as her kitchen had wallpaper with autumn
leaves on it. My SIL Kim's had kind of purplish shoes with green
laces...her kitchen had wallpaper with grapes on it. SIL
Sandy had a blue flowered wallpaper so her tennies were blue
with white laces, and my sister Jana had a white kitchen, but her
dishes were Stoneware, white with a black band on them so she
had black shoes with white laces. I did several frogs to sell
at a craft bazaar too. They all sold. Even my Gramma had one
of them!
BC> the moves we had to make back then. :( But I did continue on, and
BC> now I'm doing dragons instead of frogs. :-) Oh, how I love ceramics.
If the lady at whose shop I got my supplies hadn't closed down,
I'd still be doing some. But the other shop in town has two
owners and they're both rude, and don't wait on you. They
also made stupid comments about my choice of paints and stuff,
and I got tired of it. It wasn't worth it. I didn't want them
to make any money off me. Stubborn aren't I? No one has
to tell me that, I already knew!
Irene told me the other day that anytime I want something, I
can call her and she'll open up and sell it to me, but she's
so busy it might be hard to get in touch with her. I still
have things I want to do, though, so I probably will do some
when I make the time. All my underglazes and stains will have
to be replaced but one at a time or just what I need for a
project. They've been in the garage during freezes and hot
spells for several years and you know what that does to them!
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
