Hi Ron, thanks for your reply and sugestions, I'm sure I will find it useful. 
 The idea of hiding circuity so that the children have to discern the circuit 
layout themselve is a good idea as what I did is draw the circuit layout 
myself and had the children copy.  A teaching method that I don't really 
agree with.  Anyway, once again thanks heaps and What do you think of the 
open-ended approach yourself?  If your a teaher what do you do?
