Certainly sounds like a good place for the attempt, not that I would know for sure.

Minus the sea part, surveying and the like can be like that.  Rock, tree,
lake, rock, tree, lake, ...

Sort of simular I would think, although never having been to sea for any
serious stretch it is just a guess.  Mind you I also guess there are a few
more alterations in scenery on land then on sea which might make a
significant difference.

Just trying to relate here.  Nothing to be alarmed about.  :-)
