EN>I found your post (with the above Subj. to the Home Ofc echo) to be
EN>attractive. And even eloquent or something close to that. Of course
EN>that last shouldn't be surprising, given the fields of your interest.
Thanx Ed
EN>They're close to mine, too, so I've got a question(s):
EN>D'you happen to know of an Internet mailing list -- accessible by e-mail,
EN>necessarily -- that goes to either of your interests (other than the BBS,
EN>that is)? Because those are my interests, too.
Yes, there is mine, which is more of a newsletter than a discussion
group. E-mail me at: mbn1@juno.com and I will fill you in on it.
Have you gave any thought to starting your own, this is something that
you should look into. If you need any help let me know, I'll be glad to
help you get it set up. I started mine Jan. 6, 97, and today I have 294
subscribers. I have 8 advertisers, 1 order for my disk-based magazine.
This is not bad results IMHO.
EN>From Chicago, there's no possibility I'd be competing w/ you. Indeed,
EN>for the specific project I'm working on, I don't believe any competition
EN>yet exists anywhere.
That depends on your market, my market is global, but I love
competition, it draws a croud.
EN>I saw, long ago, a demonstration of Express Publisher. Clearly, it's
EN>an "entry level" system for any DTP work, but it appeared to me that it
EN>would handle anything I see as a potential need. Further, I've got a
EN>copy of version 2.0. I've been looking at the docs. So far, however,
EN>I've been too chicken even to try to install it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Why?
EN>For one thing, the printer I now have is a 9-pin DM machine (Epson RX/FX
80)
EN>But I could probably start out by getting copy printed out at a service
EN>bureau (sound sensible?). After all, I won't need more than one copy to
EN>use via a copy shop.
Don't let that stop you, you should get a feel of the software, find out
if it will do what you need. Yes, a service bureau would be an option,
you would have to find out what file formats they use.
EN>I'd be most encouraged, however, if I were able to find a reasonably
ctive
EN>I'Net mailing list where I might discuss this sort of thing. I don't mean
EN>to be weeping on your shoulder, btw! But I haven't found the right source
EN>thus far.
I'll keep a look-out for such a group, maybe we could start one, what'ya
think?
EN>In any case, I look forward to seeing your traffic on Home Office. And
EN>thanx for listening. --ed
No, thank you Ed, your input is always welcomed.
