Hi Pat!
-=> Quoting Pat Knox to Wendy Buchanan <=-
WB> I never would have thought of that, but knowing my doctor he would
WB> charge me for it!
PK> Then sneak it!! :)
Good thing I'm not a good designer. I'm not good at sneaking
anything either! hehe
PK> Get better soon please!
The infection is gone. I now have my usual springtime "every
living thing's in bloom" allergies along with a fierce head
cold, but I can live with that. It's not life-threatening.
PK> Tell me about it! I have actually been cleaning house lately and
PK> it wore me out!
I'll bet, it wears me out too. I had a respite for a couple
of days here. I was headed to the 24-hour Wal-Mart super
center Wednesday morning at 8 am after dropping Tom off at work,
and the Omni died at a 50 MPH intersection, at the light. No
one will get out and help you when they're going to work, so I
sat there for about 20 minutes till some lady stopped and said
she would push me into the parking lot across the intersection.
Her friend stopped and helped, and after they got the car all
the way across, a cop finally stopped (the sheriff's dept. just
went by me, with my hood up even! GRRRR!) and asked did we
need some help? GRRRRR again! We just said "Where were you
half an hour ago???" He grinned--and left!
I knew it wasn't the battery, so I called the dealership and
they sent a tow truck and the timing belt was out. They just
gave me a lovely Honda Odyssey minivan to drive and called
this morning to say it may be fixed by tonight, maybe not. In
the meantime they let Phillips out at 2 pm yesterday and they
are off today (no pay for my Tom, but what the hey!) so we
went to Tulsa and I got to see a lovely place called "The
Quilted Bear." It's a huuuuuuge homecrafted and crafts mall
and they have all sorts of Victorian and country crafted items
for sale, in booths. Different crafters' work and all of it
exquisite! Handstamped cards and bookmarks, wooden items
beautifully painted, floral arrangements, handmade lamps and
pincushions, and loads of teddy bears, rabbits, etc. One
booth had stained glass, just lovely. There were dishtowels
with crocheted hanger tops, just bookoodles of things. We
didn't even get to see half the things, we were so tired by
the time we saw what we did! There's an Amish restaurant and
food shop in there, too. Didn't get to that as we'd just had
dinner.
Of course Tom wanted to check out the laptops and notebooks
at Circuit City, too. To each his own! I got to drive
that lovely van to and from Tulsa so we both enjoyed ourselves
a lot. And there were rubber stamps in that one booth and I
sure had a great time looking, but they were too expensive and
I can get them at a much better price out of the catalogs.
Sure was neat to look, though! I also told the car dealership
that should they want that almost 9-year-old Omni, I'd make 'em
an even trade for that Odyssey! hehehe! I'd never driven a
van before, or anything else that size. It's great, turns
easily and parks like a dream. Plus it has car doors and not
those awful sliding things on it. I WANT ONE! 8-)
WB> I'd rather do cybermail...here or in S&Q!
PK> Me too. It is addictive and I have had bad withdrawal pains!
I'll bet! I know how I felt those 4 months.
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
