My experience was that I registered and installed McAfee. I also
registered for the 2 year maintenance program at the same time, some 18
months ago.
I was then unable to access the McAfee site to download contract updates
so eventually I downloaded a DAT update from my local BBS. McAfee then
refused to run. I could only get the new DAT to run when I also downloaded
the SCN update published at the same time.
When I eventually got a message through the mechanical answering
machines, I was very tartly told that McAfee did not guarantee that the
updates published by them would be compatible with my registered software.
So, when I eventually get my download problem with their site sorted out,
I am going to be running current DAT files with a SCN engine 2 years old.
I'll be interested to see what happens.
