 WAVs are everywhere.  You can get them off CD-ROMS, sample from other
 audio sources, record your own or rip them from games.

 Cubase Audio Lite was on the PC Format cover disk a couple of months
 ago.  It's easy to set up and use although a bit limited for the expert.
 You can even record "live" audio tracks on it.
