No - I saw that some people sugested changing the allignment of the
tape heads - looking for adjustment screws... I would stay away from
this because the adjustment is very precise and it is not something to
do by ear - it needs to be done with test equipment...
Only other things I can think of are:
Quality of the tape - different from manufacturer to manufacturer and
How the tape was originally recorded...
