Does she have MS Windows? If so, she could use it's Terminal program as a
"last resort" to access a BBS system. It's not real "swift", but it will
work (sorta-kinda like).

The system that you use for your "Boss node", has to be carrying this echo at
least on a "pass through" basis in order for your to receive it. Does the
sysop of that system operate a BBS system? Perhaps you could get him/her to
add this echo to the rest he/she carries on his/her BBS system so your friend
could access this echo via that system. Just a thought...
As far as whether it'd be "worthwhile" for your friend to access this echo,
that's a tough one to gauge. There is no one that can guarantee that your
friend will find her b-family! That is a fact. But there are a lot of
people in this echo who are very helpful and willing to give it a "college
try". A lot depends on what information your friend may already have and/or
what she can find (or dig up).
