I have a 14.4 with ROM V1.80-05 TR14-Jxxx-001 191
I was having the same problems where the modem was ignoring commands. They
were most noticably dial commands where BinkleyTerm (or Telix before I got
into bbsing) would think it was dialing but the modem would just read "OK".
Tech support told me I was probably typing the command wrong, or not pressing
return, but told me to send the modem in anyway. The modem came back (after
almost two months) with no change in its operation.
Unlike yours, my modem does not intercept the CID data flawlessly. After a
"warmup" period after power-on, the modem will start to stay off-hook too
long in it's attempt to get the CID info. No data will be returned and if
the off-hook pause is long enough, the incoming call is lost. These two
problems (over four years of operation) are whats keeping me from upgrading
to a new Supra 28.8.
