Someone suggested a short time ago that it may have been a corrupted INI 
le.
I nuked both OS2.Ini and OS2Sys.Ini, re-created them with MAKEINI, and all is 
well. The only drawback is that I forgot to back up my desktop, and I had to 
rebuild it from scratch. :(
