I've had some time to play around with XR6, and it's a mixed bag so far. I'm
impressed with the new features of the mailer!

My previous version of Bink was XR4. I never quite got XR5 running right
over here. I upgraded from XR4 to XR6 with only minimal headaches. All I
had to do to my events was change all the "L" entries to
"L1". While I was
at it, I also added "V" events and event names.

I've only run it under Win95B and WinFOSSIL, so your results may vary.

The DOS version doesn't work well for me. EVERYTHING works except I get
tons of "debris" and CRC errors when receiving files. DOS Bink now allows
baud statements higher than 38400, and this appears to be working right.

The NT/Win95 NTCOMM version works well, but can't pass a hot comm port to
either the DOS or NT version of Maximus when running WinFOSSIL. This
is to be expected. It appears this version is for Maximus running under
NTCOMM.

The NT/Win95 WinFOSSIL version runs well with DOS Maximus, and this is how
I'm running now. DOS Maximus with DOS doors, all running fine.

The WinFOSSIL version can't pass a hot comm port to the NT version of
Maximus, so it appears that you can't have NT Bink + NT Max + DOS doors.

All versions (AFAIK): The dialer function in terminal mode appears to be
FUBAR. ALT-D, then a phone number or net/node all do the same thing. The
last digit of the phone number or node number gets truncated, so Bink can't
dial the number. Terminal mode works fine if you manually enter ATDT and the
phone number.

HISTORY -- neat feature. Is there any plan to have verbs in BINKLEY.CFG
so we can lock the display to single-line if desired? This would also be
appreciated in Modem Activity (Alt-V).

STATS -- Also neat, appears to be bug-free and feature-complete.

                                Phil
