It should be a personal thing, but her parents made sure it isn't. They
took it to the courts, and when they lost , the grandstanding pols (mostly
Republicans, who see it as a way to throw a bone to the religious faction
in their party) tried to further expand the reach of the federal government
while weakening state judiciaries.
