I've got a Sportster, and on that one the &f1 reset loads a hardware
flow control profile.  Individual commands, &H1 sets transmit hardware
flow control, and &I0 disables receive software flwo control.
On the V.32b Zoom I have at work, &K3 sets hardware flow control.
Check your modem manual for your particular modem.
