I had a P-III with less than 1gig RAM, and was doing VirtualBox things on it... very carefully, mind you. I had three DOS vBox systems that ran occasionally and an XP vBox that was used sparingly, whenever I needed to do anything in MS Office and across the LAN to Barb's XP Pro PC. Anthing else of a Debian/Ubuntu type requires ~800Mb RAM just for itself. A basic Puppy system uses way less than that. Cheers, Paul. ...
