In a message dated 01-23-14, mark lewis said to Holger Granholm: Hi Mark, HG> Then it's really odd why you can't see the umlaut letters because ml>they may be being translated by the BBS software on the system he is ml>accessing... Yes, my suspicion has also tyrned that way. ml>... or it is possible that his reader is operating in ml>native windows mode (iso-8859-1) and the font that he has chosen ml>simply does not contain anything in that character's slot... Well, anyway he wrote that he had checked the CP his reader/editor was CP 437, but maybe the font is the culprit. OTOH, you don't have so much choice of fonts in a DOS application. AFAIK there's no CP 437 in Windows ml>more information is needed to figure it out but it may not really ml>matter, either... It's up to Ed if he wants to see those umlaut and special characters. Have a nice day, Holger --- þ MR/2 2.30 þ No wonder you have headaches, your halo is on too tight!* Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands.
