I'd say your problem is between your modem and your computer, at a
guess you only have 16450 or 8250 UART's and your running a
multitasker (windows/OS2/Desqview etc), if your running your port
speed higher than 19200 try reducing it to 19200 as you don't really
need the port faster for a 14400 modem also try running under plain
DOS with a DOS comms program and see if the problem goes away, if so
then get the UART's on your comm card upgraded to 16550's.
